… And more! Here’s a blog where we go over the last year in more detail.
What are Swash’s growth plans moving forward?
There are several main areas we’re focusing on now including:
- Building the first version of sApp
- Building the first version of sIntelligence
- Launching the Swash DAO
Outside the technical roadmap, we are working on:
- Expanding the team — check out the open roles here
- Broadening marketing reach
- Reactivating and growing the community
- Increasing the adoption of Data for Good
- Adding new partners and developers to the ecosystem
- Increasing rewards for active users
With the team expanding, do you have funding to keep going strong into 2023?
Yes, definitely. Swash has plenty of funding with a solid 2 year runway.
Can you explain the $SWASH token use cases for the new community members?
Sure, here are the main use cases for $SWASH:
- Incentivise: As an incentive system, ecosystem actors are rewarded with Swash tokens in return for their participation.
- Transact: All data transactions across all marketplaces, platforms, and applications are distributed in SWASH. This includes value generated within the business intelligence and analytics platform (sIntelligence), the data computation environment (sCompute), and solutions developed utilising Swash technology (sApps).
- Govern: Swash token holders can vote for projects they wish to see receive funding from the Swash DAO fund, decide on new roadmap developments or modifications, and to take part in token-related decisions.
- Multiply: People can individually and collectively contribute the value of their data to social development causes and use it for value exchange both within and outside the Swash universe, such as redeeming earnings for products or staking liquidity.

With the launch of Data for Good, what has Swash done to work directly with the listed charities to reach a wider, non-crypto audience?
We have been having conversations with various well-known social good organisations to explore potential cross-collaborations where they can introduce Swash and encourage use of Data for Good to their own audiences and for us to be able to provide more options and value to our existing community.
There’s a bit of a learning curve for some of them but everyone we’ve spoken to so far is very enthusiastic about the idea and what Swash has to offer, mainly because the Swash community is unique and quite different from their existing audiences. New charities will be added on Data for Good as we expand, so keep an eye out for interesting partnerships in that area.
How can I participate in the Swash DAO Ignition, and what are the benefits of participating?
The benefits of participating are that you can:
- Be in to win the grand prize of up to 300K USDT
- Trigger Swash to burn up to 5M $SWASH
- Become a DAO Early Bird member
- Trigger Swash to donate 100K USDT to charity
- Be part of Swash reaching the top 200 tokens
It’s easy to take part! Here’s a graphic which explains the whole process and a link to the detailed step-by-step instructions and video here.
Now that we have over 300K users using the Swash app, how will we reach the next 300K users and what can the existing community do to make it happen even faster?
The best way is to tell your friends! You can find your referral link within the app. You can also:
- Install the app + join the Swash Data Union:
- Rep Swash as an ambassador
- Take part in DAO Ignition
What’s coming up next on the development front? Could we see the launch of sApps by Swash soon, and if so what can we expect?
Yes, as you may have seen, we partnered with Adshares in May and have been integrating their tech to enable ad delivery. Swash will have its own ad server on Adshares’ network but, at the same time, it will be able to publish and subscribe to other existing publisher and advertiser networks.
When we launch in December, we will have a beta phase and — assuming everything goes according to plan — we will scale it.
This means that users will be able to opt-in to earn more by seeing ads with different options. It will be the first real life use case of sApps as detailed in our whitepaper.
When is the next token burn set to happen? What can community members do to trigger more tokens to be burnt?
The next token burn will be in the coming days, and it will include a new token burn from Data for Good donations too! You can monitor burns as they happen here.
Swash announced that it has officially welcomed data buyers. What does that mean for the ecosystem and the Data Union movement at large?
Yes, that’s true! This is huge news for Swash and for Data Unions as it proves the validity of the Data Union model and its demand in the “real world”. The feedback we’ve received from them has been positive, and there’s a real energy for solutions that are more fair, transparent and mutually beneficial for everyone involved.
I think it’s been quite difficult for businesses — who can’t really operate or grow their business without data — to do things in a more sustainable way simply because there were no real viable alternatives for them. Data Unions make it possible and they have shown enthusiasm for Swash and the more human-oriented solution we champion.
