Swash V3 - Everything you need to know

Welcome to Swash Version 3 - an exciting new update designed to provide a more sustainable, rewarding, and user-friendly earning experience. Taking feedback provided from the Swash community over the last few years, the launch of Swash V3 brings a brand new referral system, new withdrawal options - including 1000s of gift cards, and the launch of the Swash mobile app!

Existing users will need to migrate from the previous system to the new version. Here’s everything you need to know: 

Why is this update special?

This update marks a monumental shift for Swash. With several major improvements aimed at enhancing user experience, there’s a lot more opportunity for Swash to scale and for you to earn.

🤝 Endless earnings with the new referral system

The new referral system has been designed to allow users who invite their friends to keep earning referral bonuses forever, based on the earnings of the people they bring. The more your referees earn, the more bonuses you’ll receive, bringing you another sustainable, people-powered way to earn rewards.

However, please note that old referral links will no longer work, as the referral system is being reset. While the data won’t carry over, rest assured that all previous referral rewards have already been paid out when the update takes place.

💰 Better balance, fairer rewards

Your earnings have also had a rehaul. Most notably, the highly-requested proportional revenue distribution will launch, meaning users who are more active will be able to earn more for their data contributions!

For existing users, all of your rewards and balances will be seamlessly transferred to your new account, ensuring you won’t lose any of your hard-earned progress during the transition. 

🛍 1000s of new withdrawal options

Another highly-requested feature from the community was to introduce new ways to withdraw. This is a crucial step to onboarding more users, as the previous withdrawal option was a little complicated for non-savvy users.

Not only have several new crypto withdrawal options been added, you now have the option to withdraw to 1000s of cash and gift card options too! Check out the FAQs for more details.

🛠 Improved performance and security

The overall performance and security of Swash have also been significantly improved, providing a more robust and scalable platform. You’ll notice a faster, more reliable experience when using Swash from now on.

📱 Easy account management

The new updates will also see a more streamlined user interface and simplified account management, making it easier for you to access Swash. This includes the ability to create and log in to Swash with an email and password, offering a more standardised experience and an alternative to relying only on your backup file (but still, backup just in case!).

If you currently have multiple accounts with the same email address, you will be given the option to either merge the accounts or to change your email to create a separate account. If you choose to merge your accounts, only the earnings from the second account will be transferred to the first.

However, to make way for these exciting upgrades, earlier versions of Swash will no longer be supported after the 12th February 2025. 

What you need to do

How the migration happens will vary depending on whether you’re new to V3 or whether you already created an account in the new system. If you currently use Swash on multiple devices, you will be asked to login with the credentials you set when onboarding to the latest version on the first device.

If you haven’t updated to the latest version of Swash:

1. Update your extension to the latest version. You can do this by going to ‘Manage Extensions’ on your browser and clicking ‘Details’ then ‘Update’. Please note, it may take a few days for the update to be reflected in your browser.
2. After updating, you’ll be prompted to start the migration process. You will be asked to set login credentials which will be used to access all devices. Make sure to save your email and password in a safe place!
3. Enjoy your upgraded Swash experience with the new referral system, improved earnings, and better performance.

While onboarding to V3, all of your previous earnings and rewards will be transferred to your new account. This ensures that your account remains intact and you can continue earning without disruption. 

Your profile information, such as your private key and phone number, will be moved to the new version. However, any historical data from the previous version - like your transaction history, donations, and withdrawals - will not be transferred. If you need access to this data, you can contact the support team by submitting a request.

Once your migration is complete, your referral data will reset. This means that, while you won’t be able to carry over previous referrals, you will be able to start fresh and continue earning from new referrals with the updated referral system. 

If you already updated to the latest version on one device and can no longer access the previous version:

In this case, you need to manually merge your accounts. This will not happen automatically, so you’ll need to follow the instructions during the migration process. As part of the merge, you’ll be asked to provide your private key. This ensures that the transfer of your data is secure.

If your previous account is still active and hasn’t been updated or registered in V3 yet, it will be automatically merged with your V3 account. The process will be seamless, and you’ll have access to all your balances and rewards once the migration is complete.

What happens to Swash Earn?

Swash Earn will update alongside the migration process, which means it will be reset. Any pending payments will be settled before the migration, ensuring there’s no disruption to your earnings. Please note, Swash Earn will only be available on V3 moving forward, so you will need to update to continue using this feature.
