The Swash Roadmap: Paving the way towards the future of data

With a strong foundation, we’re gearing up to hit 2022 from the ground running. Powered by the people and ready to start making waves in the data economy, we’re working on scaling up and getting Swash data in front of the right people.

The Swash roadmap is underway with the team starting work on the flagship products and services — First Wave Solutions — driving the force behind the new data economy where people, businesses, and developers can work together in novel ways.

❗️Why we’re adjusting the roadmap timeline

When we released the Swash whitepaper in July this year, we expected the $SWASH IDO to take place soon after. Due to market conditions and other external factors this was delayed, and the IDO was realised with great success at the end of October.

Since then, Swash has scaled immensely, driven by the influx of more than 200,000 users to the Data Union app and rapidly-expanding social followings, team expansion to scale up efficiently, partnering with key ecosystem collaborators like IoTeX, and making Swash compatible with new chains.

As a result, we have decided to push back the first milestone deliverables to make sure we have adequate time to deliver quality to the ecosystem, driven by the culture of high standards that have made Swash what it is so far.We have revised the plan slightly and will start building out sIntelligence and Smart Contracts in Q1 2022. These changes will also be reflected in the whitepaper and on the website.

🏄‍♂️ Surf: A new Swash App and sketching out the first stages of sIntelligence and Swash Smart Contracts

With the release and ongoing growth of the Swash app, we are currently between the Rise and Surf stages of the roadmap.The Swash App brings a new design, more features, ongoing referral programs, lower costs on withdrawals, more integrations, and a soon-to-be-launched donations feature.

Now, all rewards on the Swash App and future solutions are based on the newly released $SWASH token, serving as the incentive model for the entire ecosystem.

Swash’s Surf stage of development will also see the First Wave Solutions become a reality. Surf will be dedicated to initiating the development of the sIntelligence platform, redesigning how organisations access high-quality metrics based on consented and private data.

Along with initial exploration of sIntelligence comes the development of Swash Smart Contracts to ease revenue distribution in the ecosystem.

💧 Discover Flow: The launch of sCompute, sChannel, and the sApps infrastructure

The Flow stage will feature the launch of sIntelligence and the release of sCompute — the tool with superior computational power for data scientists to run computations on Swash data without moving it. The Swash team expects to release sIntelligence by Q2 2022 and sCompute and sChannel by the end of Q3 2022.

The infrastructure and the first version of the sApps SDK, the ecosystem of applications under the Swash world, will follow in late-2022 and 2023.

During the same phase of the roadmap, Swash will improve core functionalities (e.g., revenue sharing), meet new demands for Smart Contracts, and deliver the sPortal.

🌊 A full ecosystem of applications with sApps and more security under Surge and Onshore

The Surge phase will take place until Q4 2022 where we will see the launch of the first sApps — sPoll and sRecommender — to enable more use-cases between people and organisations.

During Onshore (between Q1 and Q3 of 2023), more sApps will launch — including sAd, sAdvisory, and sAirdrop — completing a full set of solutions from the Swash team. External developers will be encouraged to build their own apps, driven by the underlying key principles and approaches that drive the entire Swash ecosystem.

Between both stages, Swash will improve mechanisms to improve security and prevent fake data (e.g., bots, fraud detection) to ensure the genuine Swash community members receive their fair share.

The team are also working to launch the Swash DAO by late-2022, enabling the community to vote on new roadmap developments or modifications, and to vote on token-related decisions.

⚓️ Swash: The path to mainstream adoption with Swash Smart Contracts and upgrades to sApps and sCompute

From late-2023 to 2024, the team plans to launch the second version of major sApps, including sAd, sAdvisory, and sAirdrop and to upgrade sCompute.

This stage will reveal the final version of Swash Smart Contracts, increasing transparency and improving the ecosystem revenue distribution model.
