Swash meets WWVentures: AMA Recap

Recently, Swash’s Chloe Diamond and Seth Ulinski joined WWVentures, a social capital firm supporting high-growth projects in Web 3 and one of Swash’s all-star backers, for an exclusive AMA on Twitter Spaces.

Swash discussed everything from the Data Union growth to the recently launched DAO Ignition campaign.

WWVentures started the discussion by delving straight in to the power of data:

“Data is the ones and zeros version of oil. It is a massive commodity and one that everyone has the power to create.”

To give that power back to the people, Swash has been working relentlessly to improve across all areas. Since the last chat with WWVentures, Swash has hit several milestones:

  • Grew to 220,000+ Data Union members
  • Launched a new version of the browser app
  • Issued its native token: $SWASH
  • New partnerships
  • Launched Swash Smoke
  • Introduced the DAO Ignition campaign

All while fostering an open and diverse community

Swash is thrilled to run community efforts that promote the road for more inclusion, diversity, and openness. For example, Swash’s recent event, “Women in Data,” alongside women executives from DIA, Filecoin, and the Digital Pound Foundation.

When asked what the movement can do to promote those values in Web 3, Swash reinforced the importance of reaching out to people, helping them, and making sure Web 3 will always be an open space with no gatekeepers.

“I think the main thing is just to jump in, go for it, and ask questions,” according to Swash’s Chloe Diamond.

Expanding with new partnerships

The $SWASH token recently became available on LBank, adding to the array of top-tier exchanges including the likes of KuCoin, Gate.io and MEXC.

Continuing the theme of Swash All-Star Backers, the convo touched on Swash’s recent integration with Filecoin, the largest decentralised storage project, to bring even more value back to the community.

With IoTeX, Swash is increasing its pool of data from the world of the Internet of Things (IoT), creating more avenues for people: “All these machines are creating datasets that can be shared and monetised in different ways, whether it’s B2B or B2C.”

Swash’s partnership with Permission.io, a tokenised Web 3 ad platform, will bring a “lot of really cool synergies between the two projects.” according to Swash’s Seth Ulinski. The ad tech ecosystem is a great opportunity for decentralisation, worth “over half a trillion dollars.”

Institutions like the WEF highlight Swash

The World Economic Forum spotlighted Swash’s potential “to address various socio-economic and environmental issues.”

Being associated with institutions like the WEF is “building legitimacy with audiences that are outside the crypto world.”

Swash “has a real-world use case by being part of this data discussion, but it also has the crypto side, having fingers in both pies.”

Introducing Swash Smoke and the DAO ignition Campaign

DAO Ignition is all about “trying to give more ownership and control back to the community through its 12-month campaign.”

Bringing it all together is the Swash Smoke program, with“six different campaigns, all driven by the community.”

Growing an engaged community for the crypto and data curious

Swash is a great entry point to crypto as “adding the browser extension and surfing to earn it is a little less intimidating”.

Swash is simple: “Once it’s set up, you don’t have to do anything else.”

The main motto for Swash moving forward is the notion that “not everyone has crypto, but everyone has data.”

Swash will remain a “welcoming, simple, and easy-to-use entry point for crypto and data-curious people.”

2022 is going to be a big year for Swash and Data Unions!
